Ms. Lim has performed widely as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician, in Europe, the USA, Japan and Korea After attending the Seoul High School of Arts in South Korea, Soojung was awarded a scholarship to study with Richard Braun at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, Germany. Soojung has also performed as soloist with many orchestras, including the Busan Symphony, Busan Philharmonic, Kwangju Philharmonic, and the newly formed Hankuk Philharmonic, when she played Schumann’s Piano Concerto, at their inaugural concert, at the Seoul Art Centre, South Korea’s most prestigious concert hall.
At all these venues Soojung has been greeted with critical acclaim, being described as a concert pianist with musicality, virtuosity, magical performance, sensitivity, communicative interpretation, brilliance, and expressivity...
Soojung also performs as a chamber musician, including, in 2010, the British premiere of Chopin’s Second Piano Concerto, in its newly edited and published string quintet version, with the renowned Tippett Quartet, and Stephen Williams (double bass). This took place at Purcell Room, Southbank Centre (London, England), as part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of Chopin’s birth.

She has performed on KBS (Korean National Television) and IB3 (Spanish Radio). Soojung has also recorded a Solo piano CD entitled “Love Affair”.
Since moving to London Soojung has found further inspiration under the special training of Peter Feuchtwanger.
Soojung’s most recent activities include participation in Engadine Summer Academie in Samedan, Switzerland, with Maestro Peter Feuchtwanger (sponsored by Beckchon Scholarship Foundation, South Korea); taking part in a workshop with conductor Thomas Sanderling; performing in concert in BSI Engadine Music Festival – “Liszt in Switzerland”. “The Rossini Variations by Heri Herz, played by the pianist Lim Soojung, was an elegant virtuosic sound experience...”
For the future Ms. Lim has concerts planned in Germany and South Korea, as well as a recital, “Feuchtwanger & Chopin”. She is currently working on a project “Soojung and Friends”. In 2012 Soojung will be adjudicating at the Rotary International Piano Competition in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. She has been a regular jurist at the Competition since its inception in 2003.
